We have 10 athletes nominated this week for SBLive’s South Carolina Boys Basketball Player of the Week from Dec. 17-23 and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Saturday, Dec. 30 at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will be announced in next week’s poll.

Here are this week's nominees:

Braylhan Thomas, Gray Collegiate Academy

Thomas was named MVP of the Cayce Roundball Classic, which was won by the defending 2-A state champion War Eagles. The 6-foot-6 senior leads Gray Collegiate with 16.4 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.

Kaleb Evans, Lexington

Evans produced 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists as the Wildcats routed Charlotte (Fla.) in the City of Palms Classic.

Jordan Watford, Lancaster

The 6-foot-4 senior forward was named MVP as the Bruins won the National bracket of the Cayce Roundball Classic for the second year in a row. Watford dominated with 33 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists in the championship game.

Justin Ray, Eastside

The 6-foot-3 senior, who has committed to Monmouth, scored 33 points as the Eagles beat Archbishop Shaw (La.) 65-57 to win the Smoky Mountain Christmas Classic.

Santana Mayes, Atlantic Collegiate Academy

Mayes scored 18 points by connecting on six 3-pointers as the Armada, a first-year program, routed previously undefeated Summerville 68-43.

Kayson Dawson, Hartsville

Dawson, a 6-foot-1 freshman guard, scored 12 points in each of the two tournament games as the Red Foxes won the Hazel Pittman Christmas Center Classic.

Stephen Quinn, Westminster Catawba

Quinn scored 21 points and got 11 rebounds as the Indians beat Mount Zion 68-60 in the BAM Winter Classic at Olympic High School in Charlotte.

Jaleel McGee, Powdersville

McGee scored 14 points to go along with 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals as the Patriots beat previously unbeaten North Myrtle Beach 57-46 to win the Shootout by the Sea tournament championship.

Kazzyn McDowell, James F. Byrnes

McDowell scored 23 points and had 8 rebounds as the Rebels rolled past Catawba Ridge 79-54. That was the senior guard’s second big game of the week. He scored 19 points and got 12 rebounds in a 93-71 win over J.L. Mann.

Jeremiah Campbell, Wren

The 6-foot-4 senior scored 22 points, connecting on 6-of-9 3-point attempts as Wren beat Woodmont 75-68.
