The South Carolina High School League (SCHSL) has updated its classification placement of schools beginning with the 2024-25 school year. These classifications will be in effect for two years.

The criteria used for by the Reclassification/Realignment Guidelines Committee assign schools based on enrollment, including district additions, and 3.0 multiplier. Flexibility, as allowed by the guidelines, also considered geography and travel.

After the appeals process was complete the SCHSL has approved the following classification assignments for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 school years.

Some highlights include two-time defending Class A state football champion Christ Church moving all the way up to 4A, while Gray Collegiate and Oceanside Collegiate, which met for the 2A state football title, will each move up. Oceanside will move to 3A while Gray is moving up to 4A.
