31 in a row! Sinton routs Argyle to win 4A Texas (UIL) Baseball State Championship
AUSTIN, Texas — A year after seeing their season end in the state semifinals, the Sinton Pirates returned to the Class 4A Texas high school baseball state tournament dead set on not leaving empty-handed again.
Despite their bats heating up quickly Thursday night against Argyle in the 4A state title game, though, the Pirates pounced on a golden opportunity in the bottom of the third inning.
Sinton seized all the momentum during a seven-run frame sparked by junior third baseman Braeden Brown’s RBI single, a deep sac fly by sophomore designated hitter Nick Flores and a two-run triple by junior left fielder Kaden McCoy, which spurred a furious two-out rally.

Brown, Flores and McCoy — the Pirates’ No. 7, 8 and 9 hitters, respectively — headlined a huge night offensively for Sinton, which rolled to a 9-0 win over Argyle in the Class 4A UIL Baseball State Championship at the University of Texas’ Disch-Falk Field.
The victory marks Sinton’s fourth baseball state championship in school history and the Pirates’ first state title since 2002. Sinton (36-1) finished the season on a 31-game winning streak.
