Photos: Top Texas high school wrestlers compete at 2023 UIL Wrestling State Championships
CYPRESS, Texas — The Lone Star State's top wrestlers met on the mat Friday and Saturday at the Berry Center in Cypress to vie for the top prize in Texas high school wrestling at the 2023 UIL Wrestling.
The Allen highlighted the weekend's Class 6A action with several individual wrestlers boasting state championships, while the Eagles captured their 15th straight 6A boys team title and split the 6A girls team title with El Paso Eastwood.
A number of undefeated wrestlers headlined the weekend's Class 5A action, while Amarillo won its first 5A boys state title and Justin Northwest claimed its first 5A girls state championship in their respective wrestling programs' histories.
