Aledo QB Hauss Hejny commits to TCU, flipping from Duke
ALEDO, Texas — Aledo quarterback Hauss Hejny has officially flipped his college commitment from Duke to TCU.
Hejny, a Class of 2024 recruit who led the Bearcats to the Class 5A Division I UIL football state title in 2022, announced his commitment to the Horned Frogs via Twitter early Thursday afternoon.
“I’ve always wanted to go to TCU,” Hejny told SBLive Texas shortly after announcing his commitment. “I’ve grown up a Horned Frog. I have a good relationship with coach Briles, I’ve known him since he was at Arkansas, and I really felt good about it.”
Hejny’s announcement comes just two weeks after announcing his decommitment from Duke, where he committed in January of 2023.
The 5-foot-11 dual-threat signal caller threw for over 2,000 yards and 20 touchdowns in his junior year. He added 1,276 yards and 15 touchdowns on the ground, leading Aledo to a record eleventh state championship.
His parents, Jesse and JimAnne, are both former TCU athletes. Jesse was a defensive end for the Horned Frogs in 2004 and 2005, while JimAnne (nee. Baker) was a dual-sport star for TCU's women’s basketball and track teams.
Hejny also runs track and recorded a personal best of 10.68-second time in the 100-meter dash as a sophomore at Aledo.
