Texas UIL state track and field meet 2023: Every 3A, 4A high school state champion

Who won 3A, 4A boys and girls state championships?

It didn't take long after the UIL state track began Thursday for records to start falling.

Sophomore Taylor Nunez won four events to lead University City Randolph to a repeat 3A team championship and two athletes three-peated at the Class 3A/4A championship meet at University of Texas in Austin.

Nunez' broke a 3A long jump record that stood since 2005 and added individual titles in the 100, 200 and 4x100.

Goliad's Kyla Hill won her third consecutive 3A 300-meter hurdles championship and Yierra Flemings' 54.51-second 400-meter dash time broke a 49-year-old 3A state record and netted her a third straight 3A title.

Giddings senior Carlie Wesier swept the 4A discus and shot put titles to complete a three-year first place state sweep in both events.

Gilmer won the Class 4A boys team title, its 58 points edging out Aubrey's 55 and Canyon ran away with the girls Class 4A team title.Β 

Universal City Randolph won the Class 3A girls team title by 24 points and New London West Ruck claimed the Class 3A boys title.

Class 2A and 5A get underway Friday and Classes 1A and 6A championships take place Saturday.
