ROUND ROCK, Texas — Boyd's bats put it way out ahead, but its defense came through to secure its first state championship in program history.
The Yellowjackets fended off Wall 6-4 to win the Texas (UIL) Class 3A state baseball championship at Dell Diamond on Saturday.
Wall (35-7-1) wraps up its 2023 campaign with the loss, which snapped a five-game winning streak for the Hawks and ended their quest for the program's first state title since 2019.
