ROUND ROCK, Texas — For the first time since 2014, Flower mound hoists the Texas (UIL) state 6A baseball championship trophy. The Jaguars escaped loaded bases in the top of the seventh to preserve a 6-4 win over Pearland at Dell Diamond in Round Rock.
Flower Mound (36-11-2) wraps up its 2023 campaign following the loss, which dropped the Jaguars to 11-3 during the 6A playoffs and ends their season amidst their first UIL Baseball State Tournament appearance since 2014.
Pearland (39-6-1), meanwhile, improved to 12-1 this postseason with the victory as the Oilers seized their first state championship since 1980 during their sixth trip to the UIL state tournament.
