But the junior got the call and went the distance, throwing a complete game to help Lewisville Flower Mound upend Cypress Woods 6-3.

Cy Woods (38-5) wraps up its 2023 campaign following the loss, which marks the Wildcats' second loss in their last 25 games and ends their season during their first trip to the UIL Baseball State Tournament in school history.
Flower Mound (36-10-2), meanwhile, improves to 11-1 this postseason with the victory and reaches the state title game for the first time since 2014, when the Jags won their only state championship in program history.
The Jaguars will face either Austin Westlake (40-4) or Pearland (37-6-1) in the Class 6A UIL Baseball State Championship game at 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 10th, at Dell Diamond in Round Rock.
