Kendall George goes No. 36 in 2023 MLB Draft: Dodgers land speedy Atascocita (Texas) outfielder

Atascocita High School (Texas) outfielder Kendall George was taken No. 36 overall in the 2023 MLB Draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday. 

The 5-11, 165-pound Arkansas Razorbacks signee was tabbed as one of the fastest players and was taken in the Competitive Balance Round A, well above where he was projected.

He joins Sinton's Blake Mitchell, who was taken eighth overall, as the second high school prospect from Texas selected in the draft, which is being held in Seattle. 

George bats and throws lefty and was given a perfect 80-out-of-80 score for running at the MLB Combine. Atascocita went 23-13-2 and 8-4 in UIL District 21-6A and reached the 6A Region III area round, where it lost to eventual state runner-up Pearland in three games of a best-of-three series.
