Texas high school football Week 6 is officially in the books.

SBLive is taking a look at the top high school football performers across the Houston area and all of Southeast Texas over the weekend's slate of games. We gathered the best of the best — offense, defense and special teams — and now it’s your turn to cast your vote on a winner.

Here are SBLive’s Southeast Texas Football Player of the Week nominees for Oct. 5-7 (Week 7). Scroll down to read about this week’s list and cast your vote in the poll below. Voting remains open until Sunday, October 15, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. Central time.

SOUTHEAST TEXAS FOOTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

Hunter Andrews, sr., Magnolia

Andrews, a Utah commit, ran for five touchdowns in a 44-14 rivalry victory over Magnolia West.

Kaleb Bailey, jr., North Shore

Bailey accounted for four total touchdowns — two passing and two rushing — in a 31-21 win over Summer Creek.

Da’Cameron Ford, jr., Westfield

Ford returned an interception 75 yards for a touchdown in a 42-28 victory over Nimitz. It was one of four interceptions and six total takeaways for the Westfield defense.

Rickey Green, sr., Texas City

Green had a 95-yard pick-six and a late fumble recovery that helped seal Texas City’s 15-7 win over Fort Bend Marshall.

Quinton Jones, sr., Jersey Village

The Falcons rolled to a 56-7 win over Cypress Ridge with 49 unanswered points. The running back had four touchdowns, including one for 84 yards, in the victory.

DJ Lagway, sr., Willis

Lagway was back at it again this week, throwing for 391 yards and five touchdowns in a 56-17 blowout of College Park. The five-star Florida commit has 41 total touchdowns through seven games this season.

Mikail Lockett, sr., Nacogdoches 

The Dragons picked up their first district win of the year in a 30-6 win over Hallsville. Lockett threw for 247 yards and four touchdowns — all to different receivers.

Sam Mattingly, sr., Magnolia West

Mattingly had 17 total tackles in a 44-14 loss to Magnolia. The senior is committed to Stanford.

Omarion Rasberry, sr., Garrison 

The Lamar pledge ran for 124 yards and scored four touchdowns on only nine carries in a 49-14 win over Shelbybville in a District 11-2A showdown. He eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark on the season in rushing yards.

Jordan Reaves, sr., Houston Lamar 

The quarterback threw three touchdowns and ran for another in a 69-7 win over Westbury. He finished with 228 yards passing and helped the Texans improve to 7-0.

Jeremiah Smith, soph., Katy

The sophomore starting linebacker returned a fumble for a score to break what was a scoreless game against Katy Paetow. Katy won 31-7 to improve to 6-1 overall and 5-0 in District 19-6A.

Austin Taylor, jr., Huntsville

The Hornets opened up the brand-new Huntsville ISD with a 17-3 win over Bryan Rudder with a pair of touchdown passes in a 17-3 win on Friday.

Santiago Torres, sr., Cypress Bridgeland

The senior booted a 25-yard field goal as time expired as the Bears picked up a 12-10 win over Cypress Falls on Thursday.

Collin Willetts, sr., Katy Jordan 

The signal caller threw for 235 yards and five touchdowns to help the Warriors pick up a 48-21 win over Katy Cinco Ranch. Willetts was a perfect 11-for-11 in the first half passing.

Michael Wilson, sr., Klein Collins

Wilson ran for 256 yards and two touchdowns as Klein Collins took down previously unbeaten Tomball Memorial, 35-14.
