Dripping Springs upsets Lake Travis in Texas high school district clash

No. 21 Cavaliers take second loss of season — this time to a district foe

Dripping Springs took an early lead and didn't let go in a 24-6 upset of Lake Travis in a Week 9 Friday night showdown near the top of the District-6A, Region IV standings. 

The Tigers built a 21-0 lead, scoring in each of the first three quarters. Lake Travis put six on the board late, but it wasn't enough. 

Fans cleared out well before the final horn.

Lake Travis and Dripping Springs both entered the matchup 4-1 in district play. Westlake leads the district with an undefeated record. 

The Cavaliers, the No. 21 overall team in Texas, entered Friday night's matchup with Dripping Springs with one marquee win on the season, scoring a Week 2 upset of No. 16 Cibolo-Steele.
