Texas high school football Week 9 is officially in the books.

SBLive gathered the top high school football performers across the Houston area and all of Southeast Texas over the weekend's slate of games. We gathered the best of the best — offense, defense and special teams — and now it’s your turn to cast your vote for the winner.

Congratulations to Fort Bend Travis quarterback Brett Garcia, the winner of SBLive's Week 8 Southeast Texas football player of the week poll. The senior won with almost 17,000 votes, a 2 percent advantage over second place.

SOUTHEAST TEXAS FOOTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK CANDIDATES

Connor Bailey, soph.

High school: Port Neches-Grove

The signal-caller was 5 for 7 for 184 yards and three touchdowns to help the No. 5-ranked Indians roll to a 51-14 win over Santa Fe on Friday.

Aaden Benjamin, sr.

High school: Pearland Shadow Creek

After Dawson had tied the game at 23-23 in double overtime, Benjamin stepped in front of a 2-point conversion pass and ran it back 101 yards for the game-ending play on Friday against Pearland Dawson.

Hunter Biehl, jr.

High school: Stratford

He had only two catches against Cy-Ridge but both of them went for touchdowns for a total of 72 yards in a 53-7 win on Saturday. 

Tyvonn ‘Ty Ty’ Byars, jr

High school: Montgomery Lake Creek

After missing the past two games, the running back returned with a big game in a 27-20 win over Huntsville on Friday. He ran the ball 36 times for 183 yards and three touchdowns. 

Braylon Conley, sr.

High school: Humble Atascocita

The USC commit had an interception in overtime to help the Eagles secure a 28-21 win over C.E. King in overtime on Saturday.

Joey Duran, sr.

High school: Texas City

The quarterback accounted for 3 touchdowns and 269 yards of total offense to help the Stingarees beat Dayton 41-6 on Friday.

Quanell X Farrakhan Jr., jr.

High school: The Woodlands

The junior had another big week for the Highlanders. After scoring twice last week, he had three touchdowns on Friday. He had touchdown catches of 6 and 5 yards and retuned a kickoff 42 yards for a score in a 62-7 win over Caney Creek.

Gavin Gonzales, soph.

High school: Magnolia

The kicker booted two field goals including one from 43 yards out to give the Bulldogs a final cushion in a 27-21 win over Manvel on Friday. 

Tremayne ‘Trey’ Hill, Katy, soph.

High school: Katy

The running back picked up 170 yards on 28 carries and scored two touchdowns in a 42-13 win over Katy Cinco Ranch on Thursday. 

Lloyd Jones III, jr.

High school: Hitchcock

The quarterback, who has an offer from Texas Tech, completed 23 of 32 passes for 312 yards and five touchdowns — to four different receivers in a 60-0 win over Hempstead on Friday.

LaDamion McDowell, jr.

High school: Pearland

The junior running back had four touchdown runs, including three in the second half during a 34-0 win over Alief Taylor on Thursday.

Trey Morris, sr. 

High school: Cypress Falls

The Army pledge ran for 188 yards on 36 carries and his touchdown with 32 seconds left gave the Golden Eagles a 32-28 win over previously unbeaten Cypress Springs on Friday. He eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark in this game, the third straight year.

Jordan Reaves, sr.  

High school: Houston Lamar

The quarterback was nearly perfect completing 6 of 7 passes and finished with 148 yards and 3 touchdowns in an 81-0 win over Chavez on Friday.

Cyrus Reyes, sr.

High school: Katy Taylor

The Mustangs safety and Memphis pledge had an interception in the end zone with 25 seconds left to help Taylor pick up a 30-24 win over state-ranked Katy Jordan on Thursday. 

Landon Smith, sr. 

High school: Barbers Hill

The 5-foot-11 target had five catches for 116 yards and touchdown receptions of 22 and 73 yards in a 56-14 win over Kingwood Park on Friday.

Brandon Thomas, jr. 

High school: Bellaire Episcopal

The athlete ran the ball 35 times of 285 yards and had five touchdowns, including the game-winner with 35 seconds left in a 42-35 win over Kinkaid on Friday. 

Jarius Williams, sr.

High school: League City Clear Springs

In only his second game playing cornerback, he had six tackles, three interceptions and two of them he ran back for scores in a 41-20 win over Clear Creek on Friday.

Jonah Williams, jr.

High school: Galveston Ball

The uncommitted recruit, who has more than 25 offers, had a rushing touchdown, receiving touchdown and returned a block field goal for a touchdown in a 66-12 win over Waltrip on Thursday.

Michael Wilson, sr.  

High school: Klein Collins

The Central Arkansas pledge had three touchdowns and helped the Tigers break a tie game at halftime to win 42-33 over Klein Cain on Friday.

Jackson Salters, sr.

High school: Memorial

Salters threw a pair of touchdowns and completed 15 of 22 passes for 256 yards in the Mustangs’ 41-18 win over Jersey Village on Saturday.
