Nationally-ranked Duncanville continues its pursuit of a second straight state title Saturday when the Panthers battle The Woodlands in the regional round of the Texas UIL 6A D1 playoffs.

Duncanville is one of the best teams in the country, but the Panthers could have their hands full with a tough Highlanders squad when the two face off this week.

Duncanville (10-1)

The Panthers lost to DeSoto (No. 6 in the Top 25 national rankings) 49-35 at the end of October, but they've dominated every other opponent they have faced this season.

They have four shutouts under their belt, and have held five other opponents to less than two touchdowns.

The Woodlands (9-4)

After losing their first two contests, the Highlanders went on a seven-game winning streak before dropping two of their final three regular season games.

They narrowly escaped with a 28-27 win against Klein Collins last week, and now will face their toughest test of the season when they take on nationally-ranked Duncanville on Saturday.
