Two of the top-ranked teams in the nation will once again be facing off in a state championship rematch on Saturday when North Shore takes on Duncanville in the Texas UIL 6A Division 1 state finals.

With North Shore ranked No. 9 in the national rankings and Duncanville ranked No. 10, as well as plenty of history between these two teams, Saturday's rematch has all the makings to be one of the best games of the entire 2023 season.

North Shore (15-0)

The Mustangs fell to Duncanvile in last year's state championship matchup and have looked like a team on a mission to redeem itself all season long. 

They made their biggest statement of the season last week when they held No. 19 Westlake to just 115 yards of offense in their 23-14 semifinal win.

With 15 wins and zero losses, they'll be coming into Saturday's rematch confident in their abilities to reclaim the Class 6A Division I crown. 

Duncanville (13-1)

The Panthers beat North Shore in this same game last year to clinch their first state title since 1988, and they might be even better this season.

Their only loss in 2023 came at the hands of DeSoto, who is the No. 6 ranked team in the country. 

With Power Five talent in most position groups, they look primed to win their second title in as many years.
