Earlier this week, we examined the 26 best high school girls basketball players in Texas, spanning each metroplex and corner of the talent-rich Lone Star State.

TOP 26 GIRLS BASKETBALL PLAYERS IN TEXAS

Jacy Abii

School: Frisco Liberty; Measurables: 6-foot-1; Class: 2026.

The four-star recruit is ranked No. 9 nationally in the class of 2026 by HoopGurlz. She was Dallas Morning News All-Area Newcomer of the Year last year, picking up District 10-5A honors by scoring 15 points per game, while adding 6.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.1 steals per game for the UIL Class 5A champions. 

Aniah Alexis

School: Cypress Lakes; Measurables: 6-1; Class: 2024.

The guard averaged 17.7 points, 11 rebounds and 4.5 assists for the Spartans last season. She’s been her team’s offensive player of the year and MVP in back-to-back years. She is one of many on this list who had family ties to college basketball as her mother, Mykala Alewine played at Lousiana-Monroe. Alexis will stay in the Houston area for college, signing with Rice in November.

Shun’teria Anumele

School: Fort Bend Austin; Measurables: 5-9; Class: 2024.

The Saint Louis signee averaged 25 points, 6 assists and 3 steals per game last season. She had 20 or more points in 18 games last year for the Bulldogs and had a season-high 41. She was the District 25-4A MVP last year for Royal before transferring to the Sugar Land school this year.

Amari Byles

School: DeSoto; Measurables: 6-2; Class: 2026.

A four-star guard, she is ranked No. 16 in the country among sophomores. She helped the Eagles reach the Class 6A finals last year and averaged 16 points, 11 rebounds and 3 blocks per game. She’s uncommitted and picked up offers from Florida, North Carolina and Tennessee in early November. Took unofficial visits to Notre Dame, UCLA and USC. 

Justice Carlton

School: Katy Seven Lakes; Measurables: 6-2; Class: 2024.

She’s the top-ranked recruit in the 2024 class in Texas and No. 7 in the country on the HoopGurlz rankings. The forward averaged 22.3 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 assists and 2 blocks per game last year. Her mom, Kacy, played at Baylor and later in the WNBA but Justice will not be following in those footsteps for college. She signed with Texas in November.

Aaliyah Chavez

School: Lubbock Monterey; Measurables: 5-9; Class: 2025.

She is the top-ranked player in the country among 2025 graduates. Chavez became her school’s all-time leading scorer last season and already has more than 1,700 points. She had averaged 27.7 points, 7.5 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 2.7 steals per game heading into her third season of high school ball. She released her top 10 list on Oct. 1, which featured in-state schools Texas Tech and Texas. 

Madelyne Davis

School: Dallas Ursuline Academy; Measurables: 5-11; Class: 2024.

One of five returning Class 6A TAPPS all-state players last year, she averaged more than 13 points per game in each of her first three seasons starting for the Bears. The point guard/shooting guard averaged 3.9 assists, 2.5 steals and 4.7 rebounds per game last year. She signed to play at Houston Christian.

Rieyan DeSouze

School: DeSoto; Measurables: 5-7; Class: 2026.

The four-star point guard was one of four starters last year for the Eagles who were freshmen, helping the team return to the 6A finals for the third straight year. DeSouze was given a USA Basketball 16U tryout this summer. Holds nearly 20 offers but is uncommitted.

Bella Flemings

School: San Antonio Brennan; Measurables: 6-0; Class: 2026.

As a freshman, she averaged 15.4 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game for the Bears. She was part of the Adidas EuroCamp tour in Italy in June. Has picked up an offer from North Carolina and went on an unofficial visit to Texas A&M.

Rian Forestier

School: San Antonio Brandeis; Measurables: 5-11; Class: 2024.

The guard has started since her freshman year and has averaged 10 points or more each season. She is coming off a scoring 24.8 points per game, while adding 12.5 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 3.8 blocks and 6.2 steals per game for the Broncos. Forestier signed with USC, following in the footsteps of her mom, Denise, who played at Texas and later UTSA.
