It's time for the highly-anticipated rematch that many Texas high school basketball fans have been hoping for since these two teams faced off during the regular season.

Nationally-ranked squads Plano East and Stony Point, two of the top squads in the Lone Star State all season long, will square off in the UIL 6A state championship game on Saturday at the Alamodome.

Plano East (39-0) enters the game as the No. 12 team in the SBLive/Sports Illustrated Power 25 national rankings, while Stony Point (38-1) is close behind at No. 20.

Plano East basketball perfects 40-0 season: 'We couldn’t wait for it to happen'

Plano East won 55-50 over Stony Point on Dec. 30, handing the Tigers their first and only loss of the season. About two and a half months later, the two teams are set to play again, this time for a state title.

The UIL 6A state championship game between Plano East and Stony Point is being streamed by the NFHS Network and is scheduled to tip off at 8:30 p.m. CT.

Update: Due to the previous game ending late, the Plano East-Stony Point game will tip off around 9:00 p.m. CT.

FOURTH QUARTER

-- Plano East wins 53-41, capturing the UIL 6A state title and completing a perfect season with a 40-0 record. 

-- Stony Point continues to struggle against Plano East's defense. The Tigers haven't scored in nearly four minutes, and the time is winding down.

-- Plano East calls a timeout up by 12 with 57 seconds left. 

-- Plano East senior Jordan Mizell goes 2-for-2 from the free throw line to make 53-41 with 1:24 remaining. The Panthers are closing in on a state title and perfect season.

-- Down by nine points, Stony Point has gone more than two minutes without scoring. Plano East leads 51-41 with 2:09 to go.

-- Uzziah Buntyn scores on a layup for Stony Point to make it 49-41 after Narit Chotikavanic made a pair of free throws to give Plano East a 10 point lead. Junior Goodlet fouled out on the play that sent Chotikavanic to the line.

-- Rachard Angton opens the fourth quarter with a high-arching three pointer to put Plano East up 44-35. 

THIRD QUARTER

-- Plano East senior Narit Chotikavanic steals an inbound pass with two seconds left and gets a three off before the buzzer, but it bounces off the rim. The Panthers lead 41-35 after three quarters. 

-- Plano East runs some time off the clock before Rachard Angton drives to the basket for two points, making it 41-35 with less than 30 seconds to go in the quarter.

-- Davaughn Hueitt hits another three for Stony Point. The Tigers trail 39-35 late in the third quarter.

-- Josiah Moseley pulls up for a jumper near the free throw line to bring Stony Point back within three, but DJ Hall responds with a quick bucket on the other end.

-- Uzziah Buntyn gets a steal and score for Stony Point's first points of the quarter.

-- DJ Hall starts the third quarter with a bucket for Plano East to reach 13 points on the night and put the Panthers up by seven.

SECOND QUARTER

-- Plano East leads 29-24 at halftime. DJ Hall has 11 points and three rebounds for the Panthers. Josiah Moseley has 10 points, eight rebounds and two assists for Stony Point. 

-- Stony Point's run continues with a fastbreak layup by Junior Goodlet. The Tigers have cut it back to a three point gam after trailing by 12. 

-- Josiah Moseley hits a pair of free throws to make it a 7-0 run for Stony Point after Alan Guyton made a three the previous time down the court. The Tigers trail by five with 3:47 to go in the half.

-- Davaughn Hueitt goes 2-for-2 at the free throw line, stopping a 10-0 run for Plano East going back to the first quarter. Stony Point trails 23-13. 

-- DJ Hall gets a turnaround jumper to fall in, as Plano East leads by double digits early in the second quarter.

-- Xavier Miller starts the second quarter with a quick four points for Plano East, making it 19-11.

FIRST QUARTER

-- Rachard Angton scores again in the final seconds of the quarter to give Plano East a 15-11 lead after one.

-- Davaughn Hueitt hits a three from the wing, the same spot he hit a game-winner last week, to bring Stony Point back within two.

-- Plano East senior Rachard Angton finishes a fastbreak with a layup to give the Panthers a 13-6 lead.

-- Following up on the last update, Hall just nailed a three to extend the Panthers' lead to 9-4.

-- DJ Hall is going to work early in this game. The junior forward has all six of Plano East's points, as the Panthers lead 6-4.

-- Villanova signee Josiah Moseley cleans up a miss for Stony Point's first points of the night.

-- DJ Hall starts the scoring with two points for Plano East.
