The playoffs have reached the Area round in 2024 Texas high school football, with games kicking off Thursday, November 21 and continuing Friday, November 22.

Upsets abounded in the first round of the UIL playoffs, and here are 10 things we learned from all the Week 1 postseason action.

The UIL state football playoffs last more than a month. The opening round of the playoffs (bi-districts) started Nov. 14-16, followed by five more consecutive rounds culminating with state championship week Dec. 18-21.
