The 2020 McDonald's All-American game, widely viewed as a benchmark for the nation's top high school basketball seniors on both the boys and girls side, has announced its nominees for annual the showcase.

Among the nominations are 11 Washington high school girls standouts across as many schools. On the boys side, four players from Renton High School (2A) were the only nominations listed out of every senior across the state.

Players are nominated through an online portal by their varsity coach, athletic director or principal through an online portal between Sept. 1 and Dec. 1. From there, organizers verify eligibility.

Terri Lynn Wootten, the tournament's nomination and selection committee director said very few nominees do not meet the eligibility requirements.

"It’s very easy to nominate, it’s just a matter of them doing it, as long as candidates are eligible we’ll take them," Wootten said.

Every player nominated — boy or girl — from Washington met the eligibility requirements.

Former Nathan Hale, Garfield and Rainier Beach wing Marjon Beauchamp was nominated. He transferred to Dream City Christian School in Glendale, Ariz. for his senior season.

Selections for teams will be made public on Jan. 23. The game takes place April 1 in Houston.
