Each week, SBLive ranks the top 25 teams across the state of Washington, regardless of classification. Here’s a look at how those teams fared in games played in Week 7 of the 2022 high school football season.
HOW THE TOP 25 FARED — OCT. 15
1. YELM TORNADOS 7-0 (3A) beat Timberline, 56-14 (Thu.)
Squad so deep, even when it feels like team's big names aren't firing away, a guy such as RB William Carreto (204 yards, two TDs) comes and dominates action.
2. EASTSIDE CATHOLIC CRUSADERS 7-0 beat Seattle Prep, 45-14
Things started slow for the Crusaders, but a big second half, highlighted by Tyson Weaver's kickoff return for a touchdown, kept Eastside Catholic rolling.
3. GLACIER PEAK GRIZZLIES 6-1 (4A) beat Marysville-Pilchuck, 49-18
It was the River Lien show as he tallied five touchdowns in the Grizzlies' win. Glacier Peak erased a 12-0 deficit in the second quarter.
4. BELLEVUE WOLVERINES 5-2 (3A) beat Lake Washington, 48-14
RB Carson Rubin got Wing-T attack into high gear with his 47-yard touchdown run to start team's second drive - and Wolverines cruised to 90th league win in a row.
5. O'DEA FIGHTING IRISH 6-1 (3A) beat Ballard, 42-14
One of "those" RB Jason Brown games - spry and unstoppable. Had five runs of 10 or more yards in first 15 minutes, including a 64-yard touchdown. Irish led 42-0 at half
6. EMERALD RIDGE JAGUARS 5-1 (4A) vs. Bellarmine Prep, ppd. (Sat.)
Poor air quality forces game to be moved to Monday.
7. LYNDEN LIONS 7-0 (2A) beat Burlington-Edison, 35-23
Never count the defending state champion out. The Lions trailed at halftime, but outscored the Tigers 21-6 in the second half.
8. GONZAGA PREP BULLPUPS 6-1 (4A) beat Central Valley, 28-21
Bullpups blow two-touchdown lead - twice - but QB JoJo Shortell's tiebreaking touchdown in the fourth quarter gave them another important 4A GSL win.
9. LAKE STEVENS VIKINGS 5-2 (4A) beat Mariner, 48-0
It took the entire first quarter for the Vikings to get going, but once they did, the floodgates opened. RB Jayden Limar scored three times.
10. LINCOLN ABES 6-0 (3A) vs. Silas, ppd. (Sat.)

11. KENNEDY CATHOLIC LANCERS 6-1 (4A) beat Auburn Riverside, 47-17 (Thu.)
Kennedy Catholic QB Devon Forehand threw for three touchdowns, two to WR Maclane Watkins, to lead the Lancers over the 3A NPSL-leading Ravens.
12. SUMNER SPARTANS 5-1 (4A) beat Olympia, 37-14
Sumner raced out to a 14-0 lead and never looked back. Che Molina and Jay Mentink both with interceptions in the 4A SPSL win.
13. LAKES LANCERS 5-0 (3A) vs. Spanaway Lake, ppd. (Sat.)

14. CHIAWANA RIVERHAWKS 7-0 (4A) beat Southridge, 21-20
Trailing by two scores in second half, QB DJ Duran and WR Michael Hansen connected on late 5-yard touchdown pass to earn Riverhawks another MCC title.
15. MONROE BEARCATS 7-0 (3A) beat Edmonds-Woodway, 28-14
After blowing by its opponents the first six weeks, Monroe showed it can pull out the close ones, too. QB Blake Springer tossed a pair of touchdown passes.
16. PUYALLUP VIKINGS 5-1 (4A) beat Bethel, 17-6
All three phases were big first-quarter contributors (Kai Richardson's blocked-punt TD recovery, Malachi Durant's INT and Ty Balzarini's rushing TD) in building 14-0 lead.
17. STANWOOD SPARTANS 7-0 (4A) beat Marysville-Getchell, 42-6
Defense holds after Chargers consume 11 minutes on opening series - and then flip-script RB Ryder Bumgarner goes school-record 99 yards for touchdown on first play.
18. SKYVIEW STORM 5-2 (4A) lose to No. 25 Camas, 36-33
Just a gut-wrenching loss. Storm had three scoring plays of 65 yards or longer to take 33-14 lead, only to give up three touchdowns in the final 6:28 to lose.
19. KENNEWICK LIONS 6-1 (3A) beat Hanford, 13-6 (Thu.)
After starting QB Andre Breedlove was knocked out of game, junior Ambrose Driver, a baseball standout, saved the day with a pair of touchdown passes in victory.
20. GARFIELD BULLDOGS 5-2 (3A) lose to No. 21 Rainier Beach, 21-15 (Sat.)
Trailing most of the game, Bulldogs will rue blown late-game opportunity to win with ball at Vikings' 4 in final seconds. Now on two-game skid, Metro title chances halted.
21. RAINIER BEACH VIKINGS 6-1 (3A) beat No. 20 Garfield, 21-15 (Sat.)
Coach Corey Sampson has not been shy saying RB Scottre Humphrey (224 yards, two TDs) is as good a tailback as there is in state. Opinion didn't lose shine after Saturday.
22. SKYLINE SPARTANS 5-1 (4A) vs. Eastmont, ppd. (Sat.)
None-league game canceled because of poor air quality.
23. GRAHAM-KAPOWSIN EAGLES 5-2 (4A) beat South Kitsap, 28-0 (Sat)
WR Jabez Woods continues to be a big-play performer (two TD catches, 63-yard punt return for score) - and defense gives up just 53 yards in shutout in Port Orchard.
24. NORTH KITSAP VIKINGS 6-1 (2A) beat Bremerton, 31-0
In sloppy 2A Olympic game - 10 combined turnovers - Vikings' defense allowed no points in three Bremerton red-zone trips in posting fourth shutout of season.
25. CAMAS PAPERMAKERS 4-3 (4A) beat No. 18 Skyview, 36-33
A comeback for the ages that the Papermakers' faithful won't soon forget. QB Taylor Ioane throws winning touchdown late to cap 22-point fourth-quarter outburst.
