For three seasons, Trevor Hennig has been a terror at Mount Si High School to try and guard in 4A KingCo boys basketball.

He will now see if the Big Sky Conference is any better at stopping him.

The 6-foot-4 senior guard gave an oral commitment to sign with Weber State University as part of its 2024 recruiting class.

"In June at Section 7s, they saw me play a couple of times and offered me," Hennig said. "We stayed in touch. And I love everything about their program."

Hennig took an official visit to the Utah campus a couple weeks ago, and told coach Eric Duft of his decision late last week.

"He fits their system well," Mount Si boys coach Jason Griffith said. "His ability to get up and down the floor, combined with his skill set will translate (to college) quickly."

Hennig had to overcome a serious back injury as a sophomore, missing the Class 4A tournament because of it. But he returned to have a big junior season, and was named to SBLive WA's Class 4A all-state second team.

He had another offer from Eastern Washington University, and had an official visit planned to Washington State University before he announced he was headed off to Ogden.
