Here are the candidates for the WaFd Bank Washington High School Athlete of the Week for Oct. 16-Oct. 21 as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive’s staff. Read through the nominees and cast your vote at the bottom of the page. Voting will conclude on Sunday at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will be announced Monday, Oct. 30th. WASHINGTON NOMINEES

Jackson Almond, Cascade Christian football: In just his third game at quarterback, the senior passed for 287 yards and four touchdowns, and added a 77-yard rushing score in the team’s win over Vashon Island. He also has nine interception on defense this fall.

Shaela Bradley, La Center girls soccer: Tallied the only goal in the team’s 1-0 win over King’s Way Christian, then scored a pair of goals in a win over Columbia of White Salmon.

Jason Brown Jr., O'Dea football: Helped the Fighting Irish capture their first 3A Metro title since spring COVID season (2021) with a game-high 231 rushing yards and four touchdowns.

Anna Callahan, Skyline girls cross country: In a matchup of top 4A runners with teammate Rebecca O’Keefe, the senior ran away with the 4A KingCo title at Marymoor Park with a 5K time of 17 minutes, 23.7 seconds - 24 seconds ahead of O’Keefe.

Tatiana Camacho, Toppenish girls volleyball: In defeating rival Zillah a third time, the Wildcats went on the road for a four-set victory to capture first league title in three decades. Camacho had a team-high 15 kills, two blocks and two aces.

Jake Davidson, Camas football: First-year starting quarterback passed for a career-best 428 yards and five touchdowns as the Papermakers clinched at least a share of the 4A GSHL title with a win over Union.

Carson McCall, Orting football: Sophomore did a little bit of everything against Steilacoom - three receptions for 89 yards, 85 rushing yards and a touchdown and a 36-yard touchdown pass on offense, as well as a fumble recovery on defense as Cardinals wrapped up second place in 2A SPSL.

Marcus Nixon, Squalicum football: One of state's top junior rushed for 190 yards and four touchdowns (including 79-yarder), and passed for 134 yards and another score in. a loss to Sehome.

Amelia Severn, Shorewood girls soccer: Led Stormrays to 3A/2A Wesco title with her hat trick in 4-0 win over Mountlake Terrace. Two of her goals came in the first half.

Carter Steinwand, Clarkston football: Bantams' dual-threat signal caller passed for 168 yards and four touchdowns (including 38-yard score on final play of first half) and rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown in a 2A GSL win over Shadle Park.

Hailey Weiler, Kennedy Catholic girls swimming: After posting state-qualifying cuts in all eight individual events this fall, she won four events (100, 200 freestyle; two relays) at the 4A NPSL championships. Weiler has not lost a race this season.

Joshua Woodard, Richland football: Posted his fifth 300-yard passing game of the fall - 384 yards and five touchdowns - in a 4A/3A MCC loss against Kamiakin.

Jabez Woods, Graham-Kapowsin football: All-state wide receiver hauled in 10 passes for 171 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winning 34-yard score with 41/2 minutes to go as No. 1 Eagles clinched 4A SPSL title. He now has five consecutive 100-yard receiving efforts.
