___
BEST MATCHUP
Deer Park came to Omak in Week 4 and edged the Pioneers, 27-25. But in that game, reigning Caribou Trail League player of the year Beau Sackman (QB) was on the sideline. The dual threat is the engine of Omak's offense, and he will need to play big to counter RB Jack Martinez and junior-dominated Deer Park offense in the rematch.
___
SCORING POTENTIAL
It is a District 1/2 pigtail game, but former No. 1 Nooksack Valley has averaged 60.4 points over its past five wins - and has the offensive line to move the ball on anybody. And while Granite Falls is a heavy home underdog, Lake Stevens QB transfer Kaden LaPlaunt (24 TDs) and WR Johnathan Roberts have put points up on everybody.
___
GRINDER POTENTIAL
Don't let Connell's sub-.500 record fool you - the Eagles think they can go to 1A SCAC West co-champion La Salle and win. Expect ATH Kellen Riner (son of ex-coach Wayne Riner) to be all over the field. La Salle has quality (and close) wins over Omak, Zillah and Naches Valley - led by QB Johan Valladares (1,315 rushing yards, 17 TDs).
___
STANDOUT OF THE WEEK
Junior Lance Allred has made a smooth transition from wide receiver to quarterback at defending state champion Royal. He has passed for 1,805 yards and 21 touchdowns, and rushed for 477 yards and 11 TDs - and has accounted for multiple scores in each of the team's eight games. Expect big numbers against Naches Valley.
___
WHO ADVANCES
Cashmere, Deer Park, Eatonville, Freeman, La Center, Lakeside of Nine Mile Falls, La Salle, Montesano, Royal, Seton Catholic, Toppenish.
