Refresh for the latest.

FINAL

Unofficial stats: Cordero (MT) 11 of 22, 285 yards, three TDs; Diaz (MT) 9 carries, 30 yards, TD; Durr (MT) 4 catches, 154 yards, two TDs. Myers (Y) 9 of 11, 88 yards, TD, 11 carries, 119 yards, two TDs; Nathan Ford (Y) 12 carries, 162 yards, TD.

FOURTH QUARTER

TOUCHDOWN, Mount Tahoma: -- Game should have been over after incompletion, but after a couple of Yelm penalties, Mount Tahoma had one untimed down, and scored on Bailey's 5 yard run. (Yelm, 42-34; 0:00)

TOUCHDOWN, Mount Tahoma: -- Finally, the drought is over in second half. And it was all Quintanilla, who had a long kickoff return, then finished it off with 7-yard score from Cordero. (Yelm, 42-28; 4:36).

TOUCHDOWN, Yelm: -- Some confusion on last MT series - Thunderbirds only got three downs. Yelm took over at MT 40, and went distance mainly on Ronquillo, who scores from 3 yards out. Looks like younger Ronquillo is serving in a "closer" role. (Yelm, 42-21; 5:29).

THIRD QUARTER

TOUCHDOWN, Yelm: -- Cannot believe how decisively this game has turned. Myers to Jacob Ford on 44-yard catch and run. (Yelm, 35-21; 57.8).

TOUCHDOWN, Yelm: -- That is three scores in less than seven minutes for hosts. Myers goes around right end for 13 yards and go-ahead touchdown. (Yelm, 28-21; 5:16).

TOUCHDOWN, Yelm: -- Jacob Ford gettin in the act on 4-yard run after Tornados recover squib kick at MT 24. (21-21; 8:11).

TOUCHDOWN, Yelm: -- Tornados go 77 yards to open half, capped by Ford's 51 yard scamper down the right sideline for a score. (MT, 21-14; 9:45).

HALFTIME

Unofficial stats: Cordero (MT) 6 of 11, 231 yards, two TDs; Diaz (MT) 8 carries, 25 yards, TD; Durr (MT) 2 catches, 122 yards, two TDs. Myers (Y) 7 of 9, 33 yards, 8 carries, 94 yards, TD; Ford (Y) 7 carries, 37 yards.

SECOND QUARTER

TOUCHDOWN, Mount Tahoma: -- Answers Yelm score in a big way. After Cordero hooks up with Quintanilla on 38-yard pass, Diaz punches it in from 3 yards out. (MT, 21-7; 5:48).

TOUCHDOWN, Yelm: -- Tornados needed that, and Myers delivered on quarterback keeper around left edge for 58-yard score. (MT, 14-7; 7:03).

TOUCHDOWN, Mount Tahoma: -- Cordero again to Durr, who splits two defenders on an inside route and goes 3 yards for score. (MT, 14-0; 9:11).

FIRST QUARTER

TOUCHDOWN, Mount Tahoma: -- Cordero airs it out down right sideline, and Durr is there to collect it on 69yard score. (MT, 7-0; 4:34).

Because heat index is over 100 degrees here in Yelm, there will be mandatory team water break during first quarter intermission. Think this will be a theme opening weekend.
