Athletes react to American Pharoah winning 141st Kentucky Derby
American Pharoah, the pre-race favorite, won the 141st running of the Kentucky Derby on Saturday. After the race, plenty of athletes shared their reactions on Twitter.
American Pharoah took off as 5–2 favorite, followed by Dortmund, Firing Line and Carpe Diem. Three horses were scratched from the race, cutting the field to 18.
American Pharoah will look to continue the quest for the Triple Crown at the Preakness Stakes on May 16.
No horse has won the Triple Crown since Affirmed in 1978. Last year's Derby winner, California Chrome, also won the Preakness but finished fourth in the Belmont Stakes.

Patriots players Julian Edelman, Danny Amendola and Rob Gronkowski left Churchill Downs before the big race, but plenty of other athletes watched and reacted.
