Past winners of the Preakness Stakes
The Preakness Stakes will be held Saturday at the Pimlico Race Course in Maryland.
American Pharoah, the Kentucky Derby winner, has been given 2-3 odds to win the second leg of the Triple Crown. The horse's jockey, Victor Espinoza, also was the jockey for last year's Preakness winner, California Chrome.
Firing Line and Dortmund, which finished second and third at the Derby, are also in this year's Preakness. According to NBC Sports, this will be only the 13th time in the past 35 years that the top three finishers at the Derby also race the Preakness. The Derby winner has won each time.
