Premier Lacrosse League Announces The PLL Championship Series
The tournament will be aired live across NBC and its affiliated apps
The Premier Lacrosse League has announced the launch of the PLL Championship Series, a two-week tournament that will have no fan attendance after having to suspend the 2020 lacrosse season due to COVID-19. The PLL Championship series will take place in two parts: the first week is a fourteen-game group play and the second week is single-elimination. The tournament will be aired live across NBC in the same time slot that would have been the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. SI's Madelyn Burke is joined by writer Ben Pickman to break down the logistics of the PLL Championship Series and why it's a huge leap for the still-growing professional sport.
