For the first time, a pay-TV provider has made ESPN3 and SEC Network Plus available in its channel guide. The company, Sling TV, is one of the many new ways people are cutting cable and using the internet to watch TV.

ESPN3 and SEC Network Plus will bring Sling TV subscribers thousands of live events, including college football, college basketball, the NBA playoffs, Monday Night Football and much more.

“Adding ESPN3 and SEC Network Plus into our guide means sports fans now have access to some of the most intense athletic matchups of the year in one place,” Sling TV CEO Roger Lynch said in a statement. “With Sling TV, fans can sign up for our service and begin watching the game within minutes and keep up with their favorite team all season long.”

Customers access Sling TV through an app, which is available on TVs, phones, tablets, gaming consoles and computers. This makes the service attainable practically anywhere at any time (as long as you have access to the internet). When it comes to college football, the company also offers access to stations like ESPN, SEC Network, ESPNU, ESPNEWS, Campus Insiders and Pac-12 Networks through their two services, Sling Orange and Sling Blue. ESPN3 was integrated into the Sling Orange service while SEC Network Plus joins Sling Orange’s “Sports Extra” add-on for another $5 per month.

The creation of Sling TV was due to DISH Network losing thousands of subscribers to the “cord-cutting” trend that has gained traction in recent years.
