Booger McFarland Will Partner Up With Herm Edwards for New ESPN Show, per Report

The NFL analyst was moved off “Monday Night Countdown” last week.

After three seasons working as an analyst on ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown, Booger McFarland was not listed on the show’s new cast when it was announced last week.

However, it sounds like the network has found a new role for McFarland. According to New York Post’s Andrew Marchand, McFarland will join ESPN’s new Monday studio show, which will discuss NFL and college football storylines. He will reportedly join former Arizona State coach Herm Edwards.

The show is set to replace ESPN’s NFL Rewind. Marchand reported that SportsCenter’s Michael Eaves will host.

McFarland has worked many roles for ESPN on Monday nights. First, he worked as a sideline reporter for the games, then was promoted to being a color analyst. That only lasted one year in 2019 before ESPN moved McFarland to NFL Countdown.

McFarland played in the NFL from 1999–2007 as a defensive tackle, helping the Buccaneers and the Colts to a Super Bowl title.

The new Monday Night Countdown show will be hosted by Scott Van Pelt.
