MLB Network Host Had Ultimate Announcer Jinx Before Dodgers’ First Pitch

In this story:
As a phenomenon, the Announcer Jinx is over. It's done. What transpired during the Los Angeles Dodgers' 8-2 win over the Miami Marlins on Tuesday will never be topped.
Let's set the scene: Tuesday evening, MLB Network cut into the matchup between the Marlins and Dodgers and issued a "No-Hitter Alert" before the game even started. It didn't make sense, of course, but given Los Angeles pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto's recent success and Miami's futility, it could be played for laughs.
"Yoshinobu Yamamoto, before he throws a single pitch tonight against the Marlins, we have a no-hitter alert," host Greg Amsinger said. "Enjoy what could be a no-hitter from Yamamoto."
On cue, Marlins center fielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. deposited Yamamoto's first pitch into the cheap seats to give Miami a 1-0 lead.

MLB Network later posted footage of Amsinger laughing at his ill fortune while the network superimposed a giant red "X."

The moral of the story: if you're going to put up an all-points bulletin for a no-hitter, at least wait until a pitch is thrown to do so.
