Miguel Cabrera

The 27-year-old Venezuelan is a four-time All-Star, and he's already mashing in 2010. Cabrera has 16 home runs and 49 runs batted in to go along with a .351 average. His red-hot hitting has kept the Tigers in contention in the AL Central so far this season.

Justin Morneau

Morneau is usually overshadowed by Joe Mauer, his teammate and Minnesota's hometown hero, but the Canadian first baseman did win AL MVP honors in 2006, and his .372 average has helped the Twins to a 31-22 record (first place in the AL Central). Oh, and he also has 12 homers and 37 RBI.

Robinson Cano

Considering the list of big boppers wearing the famous pinstripes this season, it comes as a surprise that the Yankees' best hitter so far in 2010 is second baseman Robinson Cano. With 12 home runs, 42 RBI and a league-leading .373 batting average, Cano is making his case for AL MVP.

Vladimir Guerrero

The rest of the majors wrote off Guerrero after a couple unspectacular seasons with the Angels. But after signing in the offseason with the Texas Rangers, Guerrero has shown the form that won him the 2004 AL MVP. He's batting .335 with 12 home runs and 44 RBIs and even has four steals.

Joe Mauer

The reigning AL MVP hasn't done anything to suggest he won't be in contention again in 2010, helping the Twins to a great start. Mauer is hitting .319 with 24 RBI despite having missed time with an injury already this season.

Evan Longoria

The American League Rookie of the Year in 2008, Longoria has quickly become one of the most feared hitters in baseball, to go along with a slick-fielding glove at third. His .316 average, 10 homers and 42 RBI have helped the Rays jump out to a 36-18 record, the best in baseball through two months.

Vernon Wells

Wells hit 15 home runs all of last season. This year, he's already hit 13, to go along with a .306 batting average, 37 RBI and 34 runs. Toronto has been a surprise this year, as the Jays are currently seven games over .500.

Kevin Youkilis

After a shaky start, the Red Sox are just five games out of first place in the AL East. Their resurgence has been thanks in part to Youkilis' unbelievable month of May: .329 average, seven home runs, 17 RBI, 1.204 OPS in 28 games.
