Jayson Werth has signed a seven-year deal with the Nationals worth $126 million, SI.com has learned.

The Red Sox and Tigers were also reportedly interested in the outfielder, who hit .296 with 27 home runs and 85 RBIs last season for the Phillies.

Werth, who broke into the league in 2002 with the Blue Jays, spent the last four seasons in Philadelphia. He was an All-Star in 2009 as he posted career highs in homers (36) and RBIs (99).
