Buddy and David Bell

Third baseman Buddy Bell poses with his son David in the Rangers' dugout. Bell, a member of the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame, was a five-time All-Star and six-time Gold Glove winner.

Charlie Hough

Hough tosses a pitch against the Blue Jays in 1989. A member of the Rangers' Hall of Fame, Hough was an All-Star in 1986.

Nolan Ryan

Current Rangers president Nolan Ryan looks over some papers during an SI photo shoot. The Hall of Fame pitcher and eight-time All-Star threw a major-league record seven no-hitters in his career, but never won a Cy Young.

Ivan Rodriguez

Pudge poses for the Aug. 11, 1997, cover of Sports Illustrated. The catcher is a 14-time All-Star, a 13-time Gold Glove winner and a seven-time Silver Slugger. He won his only league MVP award with the Rangers in 1999.

Alex Rodriguez

Perhaps the Rangers traded A-Rod to the Yankees because his head was getting too big -- although everything is supposed to be bigger in Texas. Rodriguez won two Gold Gloves and an AL MVP award with Texas before he was shipped to New York.

Ruben Sierra

Sierra pops up a ball against the Anaheim Angels in 2003. That was also the year the Rangers traded reigning AL MVP Alex Rodriguez to the Yankees for Alfonso Soriano and Joaquin Arias.

Michael Young

Young turns a double play against the Houston Astros in 2004. The infielder has played his entire career in Texas. He is a seven-time All-Star and winner of the 2005 AL batting title.

Kameron Loe

Nelson poses in the Rangers' dugout with his pet snake Angel. Although Loe, now with the Milwaukee Brewers, stands at 6-9, his 7-foot boa constrictor is even taller.

Sammy Sosa

Sosa poses for a picture during spring training. He played two seasons in Texas, his rookie year in 1989 and his final MLB season in 2007.
