Wright still out of Mets lineup with sore shoulder

NEW YORK (AP) Unable to fully test his sore left shoulder on a wet field, David Wright remains out of the New York Mets' lineup for a seventh straight game.

NEW YORK (AP) Unable to fully test his sore left shoulder on a wet field, David Wright remains out of the New York Mets' lineup for a seventh straight game.

The star third baseman had targeted Friday night against Texas for his return. But rain prevented Wright from going through a rigorous pregame workout, so the Mets have decided to hold him out.

Wright says: ''They want me to go all out on the field first.''

Eric Campbell was set to start at third base again, and Wright hopes to play Saturday night. He says his bruised rotator cuff feels better, but acknowledges it might be a challenge to readjust to the speed of the game after going a week with no baseball activities.

Wright says he threw in the rain, ran and took swings in the indoor cage Friday.
