Blue Jays place designated hitter Adam Lind on DL with foot fracture
The Toronto Blue Jays placed designated hitter Adam Lind on the 15-day disabled list with a right foot fracture, the Blue Jays announced Friday.
The team designated pitcher Bobby Korecky for assignment and recalled first baseman Dan Johnson from Triple-A Buffalo to make room on the roster.
Lind sat out Tuesday's and Wednesday's games against the Los Angeles Angels with the injury. In Lind's absence Toronto's offense will take even more of a hit with first baseman Edwin Encarnacion and third baseman Brett Lawrie already on the disabled list.
Lind is hitting .320 with four home runs, 27 RBI and a .389 on-base percentage in 61 games this season.
The Blue Jays go into this weekend's series against the Tampa Bay Rays three games behind the first-place Baltimore Orioles in the American League East.
