The 35-year-old will receive further treatment while in Minneapolis with three other Tigers for All-Star game festivities this week. He has been sidelined with an oblique injury since July 4 but did some upper body exercises on Friday and is expected to take swings off a tee and/or on soft tosses on Sunday assuming he has no setbacks.
He is hitting .328 with 21 homers and 55 RBI for Detroit, who are first in the AL Central.
