Report: San Diego Padres down to four finalists for GM job
The San Diego Padres are down to four finalists for the team's General Manager position, reports Bleacher Report's Scott Miller.
The finalists are Texas Rangers assistant GM A.J. Preller, Boston Red Sox assistant GM Mike Hazen, New York Yankees assistant GM Billy Eppler, and Kim Ng, the senior vice president of baseball operations for Major League Baseball. If hired, Ng would be the first female general manager in the history of American professional sports.

Padres executive chairman Ron Fowler and team president and CEO Mike Dee have conducted the interview process. The Padres have been looking for a new GM since June, when the team fired Josh Byrnes, who had held that position since October 2011.
