The Cardinals are reportedly showing interest in Rays pitcher David Price, according to a report Sunday from Nick Cafardo of The Boston Globe.
The news comes as talks reportedly continue between Tampa Bay and Seattle on a potential deal that would send the four-time All-Star to the Mariners. As Cafardo points out, any deal with the Cardinals would hinge on a financial commitment from the lefty, who turns 29 in August. He is making $14 million this season and is eligible for arbitration for the final time in 2015.
The former AL Cy Young winner now owns a 3.06 ERA. 1.04 WHIP and 172/21 K/BB ratio in 155 2/3 frames for the Rays.
