San Francisco Giants first baseman Brandon Belt will be placed on the disabled list, a day after he was struck in the face by a ball thrown astray during batting practice on Saturday. Giants manager Bruce Bochy said he's not yet sure if Belt will go on the standard 15-day disabled list or the seven-day concussion DL, according to Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle.

The 26-year-old Belt said he was about to catch a throw from shortstop during batting practice on Saturday when he was hit by a ball that came from the direction of second base. He initially stayed in and played the first three innings of the Giants' 5-3 win over the Miami Marlinsbefore leaving with dizziness

Belt is batting .242 with 10 homers and 23 RBI in 46 games this season. He has a .758 OPS. Schulman reported that corner infielder Adam Duvall was called up from Fresno to take Belt's place on the roster.
