Report: Athletics pitcher Tommy Milone asks for trade
Oakland Athletics left-hander Tommy Milone has asked the team to trade him, reports FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal.
The A’s sent Milone to Triple-A Sacramento on July 5 after acquiring pitchers Jeff Samardzija and Jason Hammel from the Chicago Cubs. It was the third time Milone has been sent down to the minors in the past year. The 27-year-old is one of the A's few starting pitchers who still has options, meaning he can be moved between Oakland and the minors without being exposed to waivers.
According to Rosenthal, the team has received inquiries on Milone but is not eager to pull off a trade.
This season, Milone has gone 6-3 with a 3.55 ERA in 16 starts for Oakland and was 6-0 with an ERA of 2.62 over his past 11 starts.

“I don’t have any comments on the issue at this time. Any talks about my future with the A’s are between the club, my representatives and myself,” Milone told the San Francisco Chronicle.
