More: The inside story of how the Astros lost Brady Aiken
Springer's injury is the latest misfortune for the Astros. On July 18, the Astros became just the third team in MLB history to fail to sign the No. 1 draft pick when the team couldn't come to terms with high school pitcher Brady Aiken. On June 22, 2012 No. 1 pick Carlos Correa injured his ankle sliding into third base in a minor league game, and the Astros expect him to miss "significant" time.
