Tigers two-time All-Star Joel Hanrahan is a "longshot" to pitch in 2014, Lynn Henning of The Detroit News tweeted Tuesday night.
The righty reliever is still recovering from Tommy John surgery in May 2013 and is able to throw bullpen sessions in extended spring training but has yet to progress anywhere near the point where he could face live batters from the mound.
The 32-year-old is guaranteed $1 million this season as the Tigers head into Tuesday night's action in Arizona atop the AL Central.

Andy Dirks "resuming baseball activities." Joel Hanrahan still a longshot for this season. No one healing rapidly in 2014.
