The news is merely a continuation of previous reports that have linked Byrd to the Royals and Mariners, in addition to the Reds.
Byrd, who turns 37 in August, is still at the top of his game after an impressive 2013 campaign. On the season, he has 19 home runs over 98 games. He's due $8 million this season and again next year, and then has an $8 million club/vesting option for 2016.
