Report: Rangers OF Alex Rios drawing wide trade interest
The New York Yankees, Seattle Mariners, San Francisco Giants and Cincinnati Reds are among the teams interested in Texas Rangers veteran outfielder Alex Rios, reports Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com.
Rosenthal also reports that the Toronto Blue Jays' interest in the outfielder "was fleeting," and the Jays are now monitoring the trade market.
Rios has a no-trade clause, and the Yankees are one of the six teams on his no-trade list. Despite their interest in the 33-year-old, Rosenthal says they are probably not a match.
A two-time All-Star, Rios is hitting .299 with four home runs and 43 RBI in 2014. The Rangers acquired him in a trade with the White Sox last August.
Rios' current contract includes a $13.5 million team option or $1 million buyout for next season.
