Report: Red Sox open to trading Jon Lester, John Lackey
The Boston Red Sox are open to trading starting pitchers Jon Lester and John Lackey, reports Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal.
The trading deadline is Thursday at 4 p.m. ET. According to ESPN.com, the team is also weighing offers for left-handed reliever Andrew Miller.
Lester is in the final season of his five-year, $30 million contract and has compiled a 10-7 record with a 2.52 ERA and 149 strikeouts this season for Boston. The Red Sox are 48-58 and 11 games behind the Toronto Blue Jays in the American League East.

Lackey, 35, is scheduled to make $15.25 million next season, but the team holds a club option for the major league minimum salary due to Lackey’s Tommy John surgery in 2012. He is 11-7 with a 3.60 ERA this year.
