The Boston Red Sox have traded pitcher Felix Doubront to the Chicago Cubs for a player to be named later, the teams announced Wednesday.
On Sunday, Doubront said he was unhappy with being in the Red Sox bullpen and was open to a trade if it meant he would get to be a starter again.
"I’m not a reliever," he told MassLive. "For me, (the Red Sox) don’t see the numbers, they don’t care what I’ve done in the past. It’s hard to be happy like that with these guys."
Doubront made 10 starts for the Red Sox in 2014 before being sent to the bullpen in June. On the year, he's 2-4 with a 6.07 ERA in 59.1 innings.
