David Price to reportedly make Tigers debut on Tuesday vs. Yankees
Newly acquired Tigers pitcher David Price will make his debut for Detroit on Tuesday when the team will be in New York to face the Yankees, according to a tweet from Tigers beat reporter Jason Beck of MLB.com citing manager Brad Ausmus.
The four-time All-Star, who turns 29 later in August, was traded from Tampa Bay at the deadline last week and is 10-5 with a 3.66 ERA against New York for his career. The deal was a three-team trade that sent lefty Drew Smyly and minor league infielder Willy Adames to Tampa Bay from Detroit. The Rays also got infielder Nick Franklin from the Mariners and Tigers outfielder Austin Jackson went to Seattle.
The Tigers remain in first in the AL Central heading into Saturday night's game at home vs. the Rockies.
