With an infield single in the sixth inning of Saturday's 3-0 loss to the Indians in the Bronx, Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter moved into sole possession of sixth place on MLB's all-time hits list with 3,431.

The 40-year-old entered the game tied with Honus Wagner, but beat out a dribbler to the left side that Cleveland third baseman Lonnie Chisenhall couldn't handle.

Jeter was given a standing ovation and the ball was taken out of play.

Jeter, who will retire at the end of the season, is unlikely to move into fifth place, as he is 83 hits behind Tris Speaker with only 46 games remaining this season. The 14-time All-Star is hitting .276 with three homers and 30 RBIs in 102 games this season.
