The Dodgers acquired Justin Germano from the Rangers on Friday for future considerations and assigned him to Triple-A Albuquerque, the team announced.

The 32-year-old was 4-13 with a 4.51 ERA in 21 starts for Triple-A Round Rock, but he has been used as both a starter and a reliever in parts of nine seasons in the majors with the Padres, Reds, Indians, Red Sox, Cubs, Blue Jays and Rangers. The Pasadena native is 10-30 with a 5.40 ERA in 96 career appearances (48 starts).

He allowed seven runs in two appearances for Texas this season spanning 5 1/3 innings.

Los Angeles has also acquired pitchers Roberto Hernandez and Kevin Correia this month to aid its injured pitching corps. Hernandez replaced Josh Beckett in the rotation, and Correia would be Hyun-Jin Ryu's fill-in if he needs to miss a start with a strained right glute.
