Cubs shortstop Starlin Castro will likely miss the rest of the season after suffering a left high ankle sprain in Tuesday's win over the Brewers, reported baseball analyst Bruce Levine of WSCR-AM.

Castro had scored off a Jorge Soler single but bent his left ankle in the process. Levine reported that the timetable for Castro's return is likely four weeks, which effectively ends his season since the Cubs are fifth in the NL Central and have only 22 games remaining.

The 24-year-old hit .292 in 134 games to go with 14 home runs and 33 doubles. In his absence, Javier Baez will likely move from second base and see an increased workload for the remainder of the season.
